All That Glitters

2017 ended with a fantastic gilding job. Water-gilding 3 matching pendulums for a standing case clock. Fully Assembled images yet to come.

The pendulums were stripped back and treated for wood worm before being applied with several layers of Gesso; stripped back to base again, in order to provide the best starting surface for the gilding process.

The client’s preference was for a bright gold so that the colour would tarnish naturally over time.

I was delighted with how happy my client was on receipt of the project- stating that he couldn't believe the shine achieved on the gold.

Fingers crossed 2018 brings similar exciting projects!
